FAQ

Helpful info for a calm, safe, and comfortable stay.

Preparing for Your Cat’s Stay

At Meow Manor, we want every feline guest to feel relaxed, safe, and completely at home. A little preparation before your cat’s stay can make the transition even smoother. Here are a few helpful tips for cat parents.

  1. Book your reservation early. Our private suites are limited, and during busy seasons such as summer holidays, March Break, and Christmas, they tend to fill quickly. We recommend reserving your cat’s stay in advance to secure your preferred dates.
  2. Reassure your cat before your trip. As you prepare for your travels, speak calmly to your cat and maintain your usual routine as much as possible. Cats are very intuitive and often respond to the tone and emotions of their owners, which can help them feel more relaxed.
  3. Keep your cat indoors on the day of arrival. Travel preparations sometimes make cats curious or cautious. On the day of drop-off, please keep your cat safely indoors so they remain calm and ready for their journey to Meow Manor.
  4. Bring a familiar comfort item. A favorite toy, blanket, towel, or even a piece of your clothing with your scent can provide reassurance in a new environment. Familiar smells help cats feel secure and settle in more quickly.
  5. Pack your cat’s regular food. To keep your cat’s routine consistent and avoid digestive upset, we recommend bringing the food they normally eat at home.
  6. For cats sensitive to car travel. If your cat tends to experience car sickness, it may help to remove food and water the evening before travel. Once your cat has settled into their private suite, fresh water and food will be available whenever they feel ready to eat.
  7. Please use a secure carrier. For safety and comfort, cats should always be transported in a carrier. Unexpected sounds or movements can startle even the calmest cat. If you are bringing more than one cat, separate carriers are recommended, as travel stress can sometimes make cats temporarily irritable.
  8. Allow time for adjustment. It is completely normal for cats to be cautious when arriving in a new environment with unfamiliar scents. Some cats may prefer to quietly observe or hide at first. Most guests settle in quickly, enjoy their cozy accommodations, and soon begin to relax and accept gentle attention and care.
  9. Returning home after their stay. Once your cat returns home, they may spend some time quietly exploring their familiar space again. This is a natural part of readjusting. Keeping them indoors for a day or two can help them settle back into their routine comfortably.
  10. Extra time during busy holiday periods. During peak holiday seasons, we kindly ask cat parents to allow a little extra time for check-in and pick-up to ensure a calm and smooth experience for every cat.

At Meow Manor, caring for cats is more than a service — it is our passion. Every whiskered guest receives patience, kindness, and individual attention so they can relax and enjoy their stay while their families are away.

Health & Wellness

At Meow Manor, our whiskered guests enjoy a cozy, calm retreat. Our mission is to make sure every kitty feels safe, relaxed, and pampered, with plenty of spots to curl up and purr.

Vaccinations

  • For the protection and safety of your kitties, vaccinations should be kept up to date.
  • Safety is our top priority, so for stays at our hotel, we require proof of the following valid and current vaccinations for both cats: Rabies, FeVRCP, and FeLV. Please kindly send us copies of the veterinary records at your earliest convenience so we can proceed with the reservation.
  • Records can be emailed, brought at check-in, or sent directly by your veterinarian.
  • A recent wellness check (within the last two years) is recommended to make sure your kitty is healthy and ready to enjoy their stay.

Flea & Tick Protection

For the safety of all our guests, we require that cats are under active parasite protection throughout their entire stay and must be treated at least 48 hours before check-in (unless it's given monthly and currently active). Please let me know what you applied and when for each cat.

One commonly used option is NexGard Combo or Revolution, which provides broad protection against parasites such as fleas, ticks, and worms. You are welcome to use any alternative recommended by your veterinarian.

Medications

  • Bring enough medication for the stay, plus a little extra just in case.
  • We can administer most medications.
  • Daily diabetic care is available: $5/day, including injections.
  • First-time diabetic kitties may enjoy a short trial stay to feel cozy and confident in their new surroundings.

Medical Care

  • If your kitty needs veterinary care, we’ll first try to visit your regular vet. If your vet is unavailable, our trusted on-call vet will step in.
  • Any veterinary costs are the responsibility of the cat family.
  • We recommend leaving instructions and permission with your vet in case your kitty needs care while you’re away.
  • This is especially important for senior kitties (13+ years), those with special needs, or if you’re traveling abroad.
  • Please ensure you or a trusted contact can be reached while you’re away and can make decisions for your kitty.
  • We’ll always contact you about any medical concerns and get your kitty care right away if needed.
